Barney the macaw is certainly a pretty boy but his language sure isn’t! this story has really made my day – a parrot who swears like a sailor and is also teaching his fellow feathered friends to do the same.

Wildlife santuary owner, Geoff Grewcock, took Barney under his wing (pardon the pun) when he was surrendered to the sanctuary by his previous owner. He shares a cage in the living room of his new owner with his two step-birdie-brothers, Sam and Charlie, who unfortunately have picked up Barney’s bad habits. Barney picked up his special vocabulary from his previous owner and last year at a civic reception sold the Mayoress to ‘f*** off!’ before turning to the vicar and two policemen and telling them ‘you can f*** off too, w*****s!’

Owner Geoff claims his living room has the atmosphere of a construction site with Barney, Charlie and Sam swearing back and forth at each other all day. I love it…I think these three little guys should have their own chat show!
