Who was John Titor?

Tag: BloggingWendy @ 5:48 am

Some time ago I had a conversation with some people where the topic had gotten around to the subject of ‘time travel’.  Now, I am a very openminded person when it comes to the possibilities that modern day science can create, and I also know that it is possible to go forward in time…the speed of space travel compared to time here on earth and all that. But to be able to travel BACK in time?…

Actually the conversation turned into a rather heated argument about Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and how that seemingly innocuous equation, E=MC2, can make just about anything possible. Then I learned about a mysterious individual called John Titor who apparently ‘travelled back’ to the year 2000 from the year 2036 as part of an assignment to pick up an IBM 5100 computor. This particular PC was needed to fix a problem predicted with UNIX in 2038…I’m told this problem in that year is actually a reality.

John Titor began posting on various forums and messageboards in November 2000 supposedly as a way of killing time until he was due to leave sometime in 2001. He disappeared from the online community after March 2001 and has never been heard from since. He had travelled here in a time machine as time travel is a reality in 2036…just ask those working at CERN in Switzerland, they are working on experiements right now!

He didn’t go so far as to predict the future for us but hinted at such things as a civil war in the US in 2005…didn’t  happen. He also never mentioned 9/11 would ocurr later that year either.

If you take a look at some sites about this person you may be intrigued but have an open mind all the same; you just never know…
