Where do you go on holiday with someone who has been everywhere…?

Just lately we have been feeling the old travel bug taking little nibbles at us, which is unsettling as we had not planned on really going abroad for a while now that we have so much going on here at the moment.

It has been nice though getting reacquainted with Northern Ireland and doing some touristy things when we get some free time – it is amazing how many people don’t ever get to see their own environment from a tourists point of view. But this is a wonderful place to do such a thing.

The thing is Arnold loves to travel far and wide and I am really just content with ’short breaks’…drives in the car to somewhere nice, an overnight stay in a lovely location in a cozy B&B. That’s where we are different – he has driven all over the USA (among other places), staying in rv parks and kind of roughing it. I like a bit of comfort – a room, a tv and a proper bathroom (with the complimentary stuff thrown in of course…)

We want to get away at Easter and while Arnold wants to consider somewhere like Malta, I would really love to do a drive around the Yorkshire Dales and see ‘Herriot Country’. My hearts desire is to stay in the charming Wheatsheaf Inn  where James and Helen spent their honeymoon – it is still there and looks lovely.

I am a huge Herriot fan by the way :)
