I have been looking at some websites just lately as we are getting some renovations done very soon and I am after a totally new look for our family and sitting room. Basically it has not been decorated for almost thirty years and so you can imagine how it looks…tired and sort of like ‘granny’s drawing room’.

The look I usually prefer is comfortable/rustic with kiddy-safe/proof thrown in – try getting that sort of stuff these days unless you want to fit out your home with nursery furniture. Having looked at some Modern Furniture on Spacify.com I came across this photo of one of their chairs – it looks very like the design of some chairs my dad had back in the seventies. Don’t you think that design is kind of seventies-retro…?

But if you look through the site more closely you will find it is all very much contemporary furniture with that hint of ‘yesterday’ about it. That’s the sort of furniture my dad would be buying if he was in our situation today as he was really in to design – come to thing of it such a look would really transform this place of ours!
