They breed a unique brand of stupidity in Australia: People who leave kids locked in hot cars

I wonder just what it takes to get the message though to these parents who do it over and over again. They go shopping and ‘are only going to be five minutes’ and leave their small children locked in cars in the boiling heat of summer. They breed them equally as negligent in France too because when I was there three kids died from heat and suffocation after their parents left them in cars in the middle of summer.

childleftinhotcarThis little boy suffered temperatures of 60 degrees celsius when his mother -and it is most often air headed mothers who do this – parked the car and went into a shopping centre. It was 40c outside the car so the temp inside the closed car shot up like lightning.

That man is one of the people passing by who smashed the car windows to rescue him after he was seen in an extremely distressed state. He was lucky – other children have been found dead in similar circumstances. His mother has been charged and her excuse…? she ‘forgot he was in the car’…

It is a shocking photograph and hopefully one that will scare some common bloody sense into the thick heads of many parents. What is five minutes to you Mum is actually a death sentence to your child. Engage your brain and TAKE THEM WITH YOU!!!

Parents who do this should be charged with attempted murder or at the very least gross negligence.

There are solar powered fans you can buy – you wind down the two back windows, put the fan onto the inside of the window, then wind the window back up. The window stays slightly open, and the solar fan sucks out the hot air. I bought two, one for each side of the car. One usually works much faster, but as long as there is sunlight, they work.

I parked my car in full sunlight, and sat in there for half an hour, and the temperature inside was cooler than outside. Only after that test would I leave my dog in the car – with water!!! If she spilled it – well, I had a wet floor, but that’s nothing compared with a dog’s life.

As for leaving a child – that’s completely different. Temperatures aside – wouldn’t you be afraid of kidnapping?

But now I’m in Ukraine, and the risk would be of them freezing.
