The little church on the hill…

churchonthehillWe are currently organising the rather belated christening of our five year old son and it is going to end up being the most costly one of all the christenings of my kids to date. He was born in France and as we were so busy working there we never got around to finding the time to settle on a date – as well as the fact that France doesn’t really ‘do church’ like they do here and the whole ecclesiastical thing is somewhat different over in France.

I’m also organising for my son and his fiancee to attend as godparents and as they live in far north Germany at the moment that means flights and accommodation…and my eldest son likes to travel in style when he does. The problem is my budget and his idea of ‘style’ are slightly out of whack with each other. Esther has bought some Titan luggage for the trip as you see LV everywhere (cheap imitation too…) and Esther does have good taste.

Patrick has bought himself a Hugo Boss suit for the day – when he told me the price he paid I had palpitations that still continue although he sent me a pic of him wearing it recently and he does cut a dash I will admit. It will be a very emotional day for me – 18 years difference exist between Patrick and John, my first and my youngest, so it seems fitting he should be Johns godfather. And it will all take place in the little ‘church on the hill’ out in the country.
