One of the things I noticed when we were out shopping for the kid’s halloween costumes recently – besides the lengths some parents went to get the right ‘look’ for their kids – was the way the manufacturers are now catering to the grown-ups who wish to get into this time of year. I did not think that you could really get these outfits for the adults so I was surprised to see an array of dracula and vampire costumes in adult sizes. Being an initiate to this halloween thing I thought the closest I could get to being scary was by wearing a witches hat!
Until we went out and partied that night that is; I saw countless guys and girls getting around town dressed up in all manner of disguises and most of the girls all went for the ‘sexy and spooky’ look. So where did they get those great outfits because all I had seen in the shops were the ‘family’ type of costumes,you know, ‘the witch’, ‘the vampire’…obviously you can shop online for these costumes and get a much wider range of choice. I’ve learned that for halloween you don’t necessarily have to dress up as something scary – you can be a pirate of the caribbean or even a Disney character. I guess it is all about getting into the spirit of the thing.
