One man who stood up to cowardly yobs: someone buy BBC’s Paresh Patel a beer!

pareshpatelTwo yobs who decided to harrass BBC reporter, Paresh Patel, one day in September certainly got alot more trouble than they bargained for.

Don’t you just admire the sheer stupidity and cowardice of these idiots; for starters they played it two against one and followed him around the streets of Manchester city for over half an hour shouting abuse at and threatening Mr Patel. They followed the bullies code of practice of course – make sure you outnumber your victim – and took full advantage of the fact that they could easily carry on their assault knowing not one member of the public would bother to challenge them or interfere to assist Mr Patel. But these two jerks underestimated their victim – Mr Patel holds a Black Belt in Karate and is a former international martial arts world champion. True to the philosphy of the sport, Mr Patel displayed superb self control and only lashed out when he needed to defend himself against injury. Perhaps ‘lashed out’ is the wrong phrase – I’d say ‘he gave the bastard what was coming to him’…seeing that coward lying on the ground having been kneed in the groin and whacked across the head will be one of the top highlights of 2009 for me. And where was his accomplice?… he decided to dive for cover when he saw Mr Patel was no sitting duck.

This was all captured on CCTV during broad daylight with passers-by doing what is so common these days – simply passing by with the police taking way too long to arrive on the scene. Fittingly these two morons have received little more than slaps on the wrist from the courts but I dare say they wont pick on anyone in future without checking their credentials first…but oh, seeing that lout hit the ground.

Well done Mr Patel!
