I just had to include this article I found on an Australian newspaper’s website today, read it and literally weep:
” The Darwin Awards celebrate those who improve the gene pool by accidentally removing themselves from it.
This year’s award has gone to an alcoholic who died by giving himself a sherry enema.
Painful throat problems meant the man could not ingest alcohol.
He took to taking alcohol by enema instead, but died after absorbing 1.5 litres on sherry. ”
Kind of gives a whole new meaning to ‘rosy cheeks’ eh? Of course there is a sad side to this story, alcoholism is a sickness and really not something to laugh about.
I wonder, though, how he managed to hold it in long enough to get drunk?
