Lose the weight, not your mind

I’ve just been reading an interesting blog, NOWG.netand noticed an article about weightloss pills. It got my attention because the article speaks in favour of them. Well, as someone who has been there and done that (haven’t most of us girls?) I can only say that unless your doctor expressly prescribes them I’d say steer clear of them.

Basically these little things work by revving up your metabolism to turbo-mode; in doing this your heart has to beat faster and so as a result you get those palpitations and this is not a good thing. Who wants to lose the weight only to gain a heart condition? This is the most common side-effect of weightloss pills and effectively if the pills don’t have side-effects then they are not going to do anything at all because they all work by producing side-effects! And pills like Adipex might slim you down, for a bit, but you run the risk of suffering severe depression as well as suicidal thoughts…

Here in Europe it is very hard to find a doc that will prescribe pills for weightloss nowadays; there is a natural product I read about, Hepanephrol, that is supposed to help and it’s in the form of artichoke extract – you drink it and it works by cleansing the liver. God knows what it tastes like but it’s said to be safe.

But you still can’t beat the tried and tested method: eat less fat, eat more fresh produce from mother earth and just basically move around more…easier said than I done I know, I know – but it never fails!
