Reportedly Kate Middleton and Prince William are on the lookout for a house for them to set up home together. It seems that Kate really has her sights set on being the next Princess of Wales. But I wonder if she knows what will lie in store for her should she achieve her aim. She seems intelligent enough, but obviously not a fan of recent history…
Kate may find, like Diana, that being a Royal ‘girlfriend’ is quite different to being a Royal ‘wife’. She will have to sacrifice her friends, her ‘job’, and family, for the ungrateful and ever critical mob that are the ‘British people’.
She will be expected to cease to exist as ‘Kate Middleton’ and be, instead, ‘The People’s Kate’. She will forever be compared with William’s mother and yet the British public will never allow her to measure up to the woman known as Diana. Royals marrying ‘commoners’ in modern times just has not worked. See Diana, see Fergie, see Princess Anne.
If I were her I would run for the hills and not look back.
