I have two favourite ways in which to relax – when I have the time. I like to read or I love nothing more than to settle down and watch a good DVD or listen to a CD. I favour the reading or listening to music above all else though and for a while now I have been promising to treat myself to a much better environment in which I can enjoy doing these things.

When I put on a CD I like it loud - despite all the protests – but let’s face it, what better way to listen to the opening bars of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony than on full blast…? it just ain’t the same turned right down.

Even though modern technology has never held much attraction for me (I have always preferred a simple television and an uncomplicated microwave) I am becoming more and more tempted to purchase one of those home theater systems where you get a much better sound and picture quality.

Fortunately we have a room large enough for this as well as for the home theater seating but, on the downside, not so much the budget for the two.  Right now we are looking around at various choices of brands – and this is something I hate doing as I am the type who wants the first one she see’s. But Arnold is far more selective and likes to comparison shop.

But it will be my one indulgence – and I said that if I got my theater system I would not want anything for Xmas this year…(and I suppose most men have heard that one before…)
