We have settled back into life here in Belfast with rapid ease and are loving being back here at last. Last week we did get snowed in for a day and James had to stay home from school but otherwise we are pretty much picking up where we left off when we took off for France almost five years ago.
It has been interesting seeing the changes in the local area that happened while we were away – new shops (always a plus in my opinion), hotels being built and one really fascinating aspect is that there are more people around than before. Obviously Northern Ireland has become more of a popular choice for migrants to settle in and that is a real sign of the times!
Gradually we have waded through the unpacking though still we have some boxes to empty – I have to admit that one half of our partnership brought back more than usual in the ‘excess baggage’ department…our culinary life in France had the knock-on effect of adding some weight in the form of a ‘spare tyre’ and he is out to lose it asap. We have been checking out the health food shops lately looking for the best weight loss supplements that will give him a kick start.
Though if the snow keeps up the constant shovelling each morning will probably suffice…
