Does this film push too many boundaries?

Just recently I wrote about  a controversial new film called Frontier(s) which is currently on a strictly limited one week release in cinemas. There are only a handful of theaters who have agreed to screen this film as it is being shown uncut and entirely unrated. Such a thing is quite rare these days and when it does happen it tends to attract a lot of publicity and attention.

Of course due to this publicity and hype I expect people will flock to see this latest Horror Movie in their droves. As for myself I live a bit too far from any of those theaters so am able to say quite honestly that there is no way I will be going to see it.

Have a look at the trailer and then decide for yourself. Yes, it is extremely gory and contains full on violence – but whether you consider the violent content to be purely gratuitous or rather simply over the top schlock would depend on how easily scared or shocked you are.

Personally it seems as though society is becoming more and more immune to shocking images these days and whether or not you agree with it is neither here nor there.  My son has seen the trailer, proclaimed it ‘cool’, and I expect he will probably purchase the DVD when it is released on May 13th.  I guess the younger generation have become conditioned to such images in films; they see them in video games and of course what you see on the evening news is pretty bad in that it is reality.

Yep, if you go along in the next few days and see this movie you can be assured of being totally scared out of your wits but if you think you can just leave it all behind when you leave the theater think again…the world is already full of living nightmares.
