Dannii Minogue beware – Young Talent Time is coming back!

youngtalenttimeTo all you X-Factor fans who believe that Dannii Minogue followed in her sister Kylie’s footsteps – and to all you who say Dannii has no place judging a talent show – think again…

Dannii is a well seasoned performer with experience going back years before big sister Kylie ever grabbed a micrphone and sang Locomotion. Just look at the picture to the left; bottom left of the photo is Dannii when she was simply Dannielle or Danny - she altered the spelling of her name after she left YTT. Dannii started out as a child singing and dancing in an Australian variety show called Young Talent Time. It was on every Sunday night and also launched the career of Tina Arena. The kids on YTT were all talented although not all went on to worldwide fame – they had to leave YTT when they turned 15. You either loved YTT or you thought it was pure cheese (I thought the latter…) but it certainly gave the kids a platform for their talents. Dannii was on this show from the age of six which makes her a more experienced performer in showbusiness than her sister.

There are talks that Young Talent Time is making a return to Australian television which excites some people and scares the daylight out of others. Whatever it does to you it will join the reappearance of several Australian landmark tv shows, Hey Hey It’s Saturday being one of them.

 I was born in 1996 and I only started getting into young talent time after a documentary a few years ago and I feel like if was around then in the 80′s I would’ve been on the show but I’m 15 years old now and if young talent time ever does make a return I would miss out on my chance but I still hope it does come back to give other people that have talent a chance:)

    • Young Talent Time showcased young talent up to the age of 18 so the opportunity still exists for you for sure. I remember Dannii and Kylie singing together after Kylie became famous, this was in the mid-80′s – but for several years before that Dannii was definitely the star as Kylie had not yet been heard of. Of the two Dannii is the more experienced performer – Kylie got very lucky in gaining her fame. It was an iconic show for sure.

  2. two points 1 dani was 8 when she joined young talent time and 2 the cut off age was 16 not 15
