Countdown for Mum

Mum’s heading back off to Australia in a few weeks time after having been away from there for over four years. She’s been helping me out with this place and the kids and I will miss her dreadfully but she wants to spend some time with my sister and her family as well as meet up again with her own two sisters.

Coming over here was her very first trip abroad and at the age of 75 she was very brave in stepping onto that plane being the nervy traveller that she is. One thing she needs to do though when she arrives back in Oz is to get her eyes done; she has a cataract and another problem which affects her ability to read and reading is her first love after playing the piano.

She’s not worried though; there are so many new tecniques these days including the Lasik option so I reckon she will sail through the procedure. Actually, she’s more nervous about the plane trip home than the operation!
