Chloe Fletcher: the latest British child to die from abuse

Let’s get this all out before the heavy hand of censorship makes it’s presence felt again…

This beautiful little girl, four year old Chloe Fletcher, has died at the hands of her mother, Laura Fletcher. Drowned in a bathtub in her own home by the hand of the one person who should have protected and cherished her.

In this picture she clutches a biscuit in her left hand, her left eye bearing the obvious sign of a fading black eye. I know one when I see one…

At least in this little girl’s case people tried to do something; concerned neighbours attempted to befriend the child’s anti-social mother. Seeing the little girl being constantly dragged out very late at night, and taken god knows where, neighbours contacted social services and reported these incidents  as well as Laura Fletcher’s constant screaming at this little angel.

Once again. Not enough done. This policy of leaving vulnerable, at-risk children in the custody of unpredictable and unstable mothers is only creating an even longer list of dead children whose lives were destroyed by the choices these adults make.

Removing them might not be politically correct, it might create reams of paperwork – but it also stops them being killed.

  1. This seems to be a worldwide epidemic or should I say pandemic! Abuse breads abuse. It this child were to survive this vicious upbringing, what other way would she know to raise her own children? This then becomes systemic! This breaks my heart and makes me sick, as I tuck my three beautful daughters into bed. I believe that the system entirely failed not just Chloe, but the entire nation of chidren. When will enough be enough here? How many more children must sufer? This parent is clearly mentally ill or a victim of abuse. It’s not for me to decide, but at some point this must be dealt with! The nation must become pro-active. Teachers, coaches, neighbors must all take an active part to identify and treat this abusive behavior. It takes a village to raise a child.

  2. I applaud the neighbours in this terrible situation. They actually looked out for the little girl and tried to befriend the mother. A social worker visited the house and so far we know nothing about what the original concerns were given the child was well fed, clean and happy enough.

But when such a child is heard being screamed at regularly and dragged out into the cold in the very late hours of the night when she should be tucked up in bed…

It is so very sad. But unfortunately sme women today do not have to think twice about having a child – they are paid to keep them and even urged to keep them by social workers. Mental illness, drug addiction, alcoholism…none of these are a barrier to having a child anymore, and certainly no reason to remove a child either.
