Wepromiseto.co.uk - stay away from this company!!

Posted under Business/Internet by Wendy on November 12th, 2008 8:38 pm

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

They bombard you with emails which you will find very difficult to unsubscribe from - they advertise a ‘help desk’ which quotes an address like this:

wepromiseto.co.uk
The Studio
Mill Yard
Swan Street
West Malling
Kent, ME19 6LP

This company provides no ‘help’ at all. If you wish to email them to tell them to sod off - they just ignore it. All you get is one of those online ’enquiry forms’ which obviously go straight into the bin.

Have nothing to do with this company.

Small businesses struggle while £4billion-kitty stays untouched

Posted under Business/Internet, General/Current by Wendy on October 31st, 2008 10:17 am

I wonder how the many owners of small businesses around the United Kingdom would be feeling this morning knowing there is a £4 billion EU ‘emergency fund’ sitting waiting to assist them…and the Chancellor has only just informed them about it…?

Whilst many of them have been fighting off those from the commercial collection agencies, trying to keep their heads and livelihoods above water, this cash pot has remained untouched. Alistair Darling is now ‘urging’ the banks to free up some of this money and help out those facin the wall.

Why do the banks need urging anyway…? is it not what these funds are intended for - and shouldn’t the banks be helping out anyway…? small businesses are the backbone of the nation - lose them and we really are in trouble!

One thing I do like about Google…

Posted under Blogging, Business/Internet by Wendy on October 23rd, 2008 8:44 am

I have my own opinions about how mega the Google-thing has become over recent years and they pretty much reflect what I also think about Microsoft. But like Microsoft Google has it’s pro’s and con’s - I just wish I had been in on the original idea though!

The latest Google tool certainly makes browsing easier - entering a keyword and it throws up a list of suggestions for you to click on and it does save you time deciding which keywords to put together. But taking a look at the various keywords you have to choose from is interesting.

I googled some stuff the other day just to see how many results each word actually received - just random things like ‘how to ripen a mango’ to innocuous things like ‘micro sd‘ and I was surprised at how many other people have done the same thing.

Also interesting is how innocent a keyword phrase can seem until you get led to a site which is not what you were looking for in the first place!
