What a day. If there is one thing I learned today it is that the people of Northern Ireland really know how to party – they really know how to have a good time – and as I write the festivities for Halloween are still raging on.
The day started with us taking the kids around Belfast and we started with the St George Markets. Arnold was on the lookout for some pond pumps but we decided to leave that for A Tesco trip tomorrow. Belfast is not a big city but there is a lot to see and get around; we had a ball at the markets (highly recommended for great things to eat) and then headed off to the City Hall where the kids joined others for making some halloween decorations.
We took in a movie at Victoria Square and then headed off home so that the kids could don their halloween outfits for the nights activities at Odyssey. I have to admit that by now my feet were killing me and a night in watching the X-Factor seemed like a revelation…but the kids were so excited about getting out in their scary stuff that I just bit the bullet and rubbed my aching feet. It was all happening at the Odyssey for sure; we had a meal at Pizza Hut, took in the fireworks, watched all the crowds and just had a great time. The fireworks were fantastic and it was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying themselves. The people here seem to go that one step further when there is a good time to be had.
