While we have been trying to get our own house renovations up and running we have been keeping a discreet eye on our neighbour because he is just coming to the end of his own building project. I wouldn’t say we have been actively spying on the activities next door but we have managed to make note of what we should try to avoid when our builders arrive in two weeks time.

First off we have learnt NOT to tell the tradesmen that they can park right across our driveway whenever they feel it necessary. We also have decided we will make it a point to place a COVER over the skip after the workers have gone home; our neighbour discovered a discarded outdoor fireplace in his one morning! why do other people feel it is their right to use YOUR skip?

Well, work starts in a couple of weeks time; we get our new roof and new kitchen – and a lot of rain in being forecast for much of this month. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong and interferes with the installation of my new cooker – I really don’t want to have to microwave the turkey this Xmas…
