Ban the burqa in the UK – completely.

The French have voted to ban the wearing of the burqa in public places in France – we now await the UK to do the same.

The wearing of this ugly, hideous garment in western society is totally needless. The burqa is not a religious requirement, it is a cultural one and one that does not belong on the streets of the United Kingdom, Australia or anywhere else where women are not threatened by attack from decent, caring men.

The burqa has become a political statement, one that says Islam has invaded our lives. The burqa is not a symbol of a christian society – it is an ugly sight, an affront to every woman and every decent man. Women who wear it insult men and they are a shame to other women who take pride in the beauty that god blessed them with.

Women were not created to be hidden away, they were not created to regard themselves as figures of temptation or sin.

Shame on those women who wear the burqa. Ban it, the sooner the better.

  1. Hell no I say keep it and make ‘em ALL wear it so we dont have to look at ‘em and that goes for the men as well!!!!

  2. I doubt a Scotsman would be allowed to wear a kilt in the streets of Iran or Pakistan, but would it be his right to do so…? yes, but if the law said no then he could not do it.
These women only have the right to wear it at the moment because no law exists to say otherwise – we need the law to say they can wear it at home but not on the streets. British people have the right to laws which reflect their wishes where reasonable. I think this is reasonable.

  3. Wendy, a Western Australian judge has ruled that a Muslim woman must remove her face covering to testify in court. She is being charged with fraud at some muslim womens college in Perth. A muslim womens college in Perth! more proof that this cancer is spreading.
I ask you, why have these muslims started sprouting up all over the place so quickly? we NEVER had these people being so prominent until the last five years or so and now it seems no matter where you go large muslim communities exist. Where have they come from? I know there was always a muslim minority in western Sydney going back some years but these days they seem to have multiplied seven-fold. You might have seen a headscarf or head veil being worn but never those ugly burqa’s. If they want to blend in with the local population then why dress in a way which makes them stick out? These people are becoming radical in their use of this mode of dress, I suggest radical laws to counter them.

    • The thing is Breen is that they are blending in with the local population…each other. I see it this way; seeing these women adopting such extreme measures of ‘female modesty’ in a country like Australia where we have always been proud of ourselves and our healthy, carefree lifestyle and we are not ashamed of our arms, legs or faces being seen by other people comes to me as somewhat insulting. To create such an extreme society in a very laid back and sun-and-sea worshipping culture as ours is, in my opinion, an affront to our own people. Such dress is well accepted in Islamic countries, Australia is not an Islamic country and Australian women are confident, independent women. Our indigenous people roamed the land naked for thousands of years, and while I wouldn’t agree with everyone getting around starkers nowadays, I find these women might as well do so as they are drawing more attention to themselves walking around covered head to toe than if they went around completely naked!
Australia has welcomed the benefits that many other cultures have brought with them – the burqa is not one of them and does not and never will belong, or the attitude behind it, in Australia.
