I’ll bet you would never have thought of poker as an actual sport. Well most people wouldn’t would they? in it’s popular form it is merely a game of luck and chance played for money which places it in the category of gambling.

I thought I’d write this up briefly as in the USA the game has been adapted to conform to different standards and, under the name of duplicate poker, it is now being recognised as a sport. The rules that differ are that players play against each other in a Poker Room (naturally) but they sit at seperate tables holding the same cards as each other.

Apparently this takes the luck/chance aspect out of things and makes it all the more legal.  What will they think of next!
