Congratulations to Nicolas Sarkozy and his new bride Carla on their wedding today in Paris. What better place to get married than in the City of Lights , and especially when you are the President of the French Republic? I’ll bet his ex-wife is fuming right now as she was the one who left him in the first place. And where is she now? in her own bitter little corner with no man to call her own.
Good on them. Marriage is still the best way to commit yourself to someone you love; who wants to go on calling their companion partner all their life? and better still, who wants to remain just a partner all their life? What an incongruous and generic way to refer to the person you supposedly love. And lets face it, when you are over 35 the titles of girlfriend/boyfriend really don’t cut it mature-wise do they?
Marriage rules. And long may it do so.
