Moors killer Ian Brady wants to die: let’s do a deal with the devil and give Keith Bennett’s mother some peace.

They say you should never do deals with criminals or terrorists but what about with the devil himself…? and if the devil has ever walked this earth it has been in the form of Moors Murderer Ian Brady who along with his female accomplice, Myra Hindley, murdered five children in the 1960′s and buried their bodies on Saddleworth Moor. Ten years ago Brady went on a hunger strike because prison authorities refused to allow him his wish to die – in the ten years since he has been force-fed on an intravenous tube into his stomach the bill to the taxpayer has so far come to £3million. Considering too the cost of keeping the identities of James Bulgers killers a secret one can only assume that the British sure do love keeping their most sadistic killers alive and safe.

Pictured above are Brady and Hindleys five young victims, all but 12 year old Keith Bennett were found and buried by their families, to date Keith’s body has not been recovered and for his mother Winnie (below) the nightmare will continue until she dies. For her there will be no peace until her son’s remains are found and she can give him a decent burial and resting place. Brady and Hindley (who died in 2002) refused to reveal where he was slain and buried on the moor, an estimated location is known but to date his remains have not been located and this is something that the evil Brady has delighted in over the years. His crimes now include torturing this poor woman who sent her little boy on an errand to his grandmothers house in 1964 and never saw him again.

As a new search for Keith’s body gets underway, funded by volunteers, Brady has once again announced his wish to be allowed to die so that ‘his torture’ can come to an end. Poor diddums…his torture! if you want to speak about REAL torture Mr Brady speak to the mothers of your victims: Winnie Johnson who to this day can only gaze across the bitter expanse of Hollin Browne Knoll (below) knowing the bones of her little boy lay somewhere underneath that grim, windswept ground. And the sheer barbarity of the lifelong ordeal endured by the mother of ten year old victim Lesley Ann Downey who had to listen to the tape recording Brady and Hindley made of her daughters dying pleas for mercy as they tortured her to death. Ann Downey is now mercifully out of her nightmare, but she died never being able to get the sound of her little girls dying screams out of her head.

Now maybe it is time to do a deal with the devil. Ian Brady wants to die, Winnie Johnson wants to bury her son – we wont miss Brady and the money he is costing us taxpayers and we all want to see this mother give her son his final resting place. If Brady is so tired of his decades-long ordeal of paying daily for his evil crimes, if he wants the easy way out by dying then let him tell Winnie Johnson where he buried her son that day. Of course in the years since, the elements would have played a big part in scattering Keith’s remains around the original site but this could the last opportunity to recover the little boy and return him to his Mum.

There is no point in trying to appeal to the human side of Brady, no point in trying to locate the tiniest evidence of any moral fibre within his decrepit body and expecting him to have any feeling whatsoever for Winnie’s suffering – just do a deal with this evil man. If he wants his own brand of wretched oblivian then make him earn it.

Get mephedrone off the shop shelves and start saving our kids!

This week the growing problem of the carnage of mephedrone addiction has been featured on BBC radio’s Stephen Nolan Show - this is actually beyond that of a ‘growing problem’ – this is something that has grown to epidemic proportions and is killing teenagers in Northern Ireland. This substance is sold as plant food – fertiliser – but who the heck feeds their gardens this time of year…? unscrupulous and greedy shop proprietors are selling this product to teenagers and those who are dealing it. They know these kids are not putting it on the daisies, they are making a profit out of death and misery…and they must be stopped. While the Govt farts around trying to decide what to do about this hideous situation this product is sitting on shelves in Belfast shops – one retailer is selling gift cards and mephedrone alongside each other!

Our gardens will not suffer if this substance is withdrawn from sale; just look at how fast a product recall can happen when a few tins of contaminated baked beans are sold – Tesco has them off the shelves within days. Why can a recall not be issued on mephedrone until a decision is made on whether or not to ban it…? retailers MUST acknowledge what is going with this, that even primary school children are buying it and already we are starting to count the human cost of the misuse and mis-sale of mephedrone with teenagers dying in recent weeks from it. This is not just an issue for health authorities but also a major one for agricultural producers who make this product and provide it for sale – the suppliers MUST acknowledge this problem.

If you know of a retailer who is blatantly stocking this product in their establishment and refusing to remove it from sale then vote with your feet, let them know they are contributing to this terrible problem. This is one way we can help our kids and make progress before our politicians get their act together – our kids will die in the meantime if we do not.

Hey Dad, keep those hands to yourself!

Like many Australians I enjoyed watching the weekly comedy series Hey Dad! back in the late 80′s and into the mid 90′s and even today it remains one of the best tv shows that the industry has produced. I always thought Julie McGregor was vastly underrated as an actress and should have broken the UK market, given her flair for comedy she could have been Australia’s own Julie Walters. I bet not many people would remember that she was also the long term girlfriend of Bryan Brown before he went off with Rachel Ward

The show has now, unfortunately, become famous again but for a more sinister reason; the star and actor who played ‘Dad’, Robert Hughes, has been accused of molesting two child actors on the show at the time – Sarah Monahan and Simone Buchanan. The abuse is alleged to have taken place over a long period of time, from when Sarah was aged six until she was thirteen and occurred in her dressing room, on the set and when Hughes would seek her out when she was on her own. Hughes behaviour was witnessed by at least one actor in the cast and what is astounding is that he was reported to producer/writer Gary Reilly over the incidents – Reilly advised the young Sarah Monahan to “stay quiet” when she complained to him about her co-stars behaviour. If this is fact – and by all accounts those who claim to have witnessed Hughes behaving inappropriately are very reliable first-hand witnesses – this could bring shocking consequences for the television industry. No doubt others will come forward and there WILL be others because I myself knew of certain ‘personalities’ who had a liking for young children…

Some cast members of Young Talent Time have made complaints about sexual abuse during their time on the show – I have knowledge of this and I expect the individual will be exposed at some stage but for now is very well protected but very well known about all the same (must be that smile of his…)

I know a lot of people who were fans of this show will be shocked and disturbed about these allegations – however bear in mind that to a number of those within the industry the allegations are nothing new…
