Why diet for Xmas when Xmas dinner will spoil it all?

I was reading the other day that it is a popular thing for many women to buy a dress a size smaller than they take in the weeks leading up to Xmas in the hope that they will have shed some weight in time for the party season…

It never works though does it girls…? right now if you walk through the Tesco where I work you can see a lot of very nice glam dresses all on sale, hugely discounted, but unfortunately most of them are all in the small sizes – one particular style is all size 8′s! yet they are down to £8 where they originally were £35 just a few weeks ago.

It doesn’t seem to stop a lot of women who are rather NOT size 8 buying them though; one of my work colleagues claimed she was taking weight loss supplements in order to fit into a dress she had just bought for New Years Eve – she bought it TWO sizes too small and in the same breath told me about all the parties she will be attending over the coming weeks. Parties mean three things: food, booze and calories. And no wonder most of those new frocks end up unworn at the back of the wardrobe – a good buy nonetheless…

Merry Xmas from British Airways…

airtravel Were you planning to travel to somewhere nice, mild and warm this Xmas…? were you planning to fly with British Airways…? well BA have decided to extend to their travellers their warmest regards for the festive season – by going on strike during the Xmas week and disrupting their customers plans. Typical.

Cabin crew have decided that going on strike from 22nd December to the 2nd January will get their message across nicely and completely stuff up the holiday plans of thousands of people this coming Xmas – and all over their already well-salaried conditions of employment. I have a few words for these people…

Happy redundancy all of you. There are many people in this country who would give their right arm for the jobs that you have and on an average pay of £29,000 a year when Virgin cabin crew earn £14,000! Don’t expect sympathy from the general public when it is the general public who will lose out on all of this. I know a a family who have taken orlando vacations every year for Xmas for six years and now they stand to lose their flights, plans and money paid out.
Secondly when you work for an organisation that is an national airline you don’t only let yourselves down but the country. You owe it to your country to serve the people who use that airline. If not you should leave, find another job. If I were BA I would sack all of you for the way you are behaving now, and at this time of the year too just as you all are ruining some people’s Xmas’s.
