To Wii or not to Wii…Santa can decide

My son has a considerable amount of santalist XBox games that he inherited when his older brother moved out to set up house with his beloved in Germany. Some of them go back four years and he dosen’t even play them anymore – I wonder if any other parents notice that. When a new game comes out they jump up and down and swear blind they will be months playing it so it will be well worth the £49 the game costs – and then they get it and play it through in a matter of days or weeks.

That is why my son is still waiting for the latest game that has come out – and I am not one of those parents who will stand in a queue from 5am so that my little darling wont suffer the social stigma of not being one of the first to own the game! I am trying to get him to trade in his console for a Wii as I have fond memories of ole Super Mario and you cannot get him on anything else. Maybe on Xmas morning Santa will have taken care of that for me…

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels…Kate never said that.

katemossAs if anyone should be bothered about what comes out of the mouth of a scruffy, over-rated style icon such as Kate Moss. Who really cares about what she says – and as for what she thinks we wont even go there…

She always looks to me as though she needs a good wash as well as a comb through her hair and a good cream for her late-night party lifestyle induced dark circles. Recently there was a furore over Kate Moss apparently saying “nothing tastes as good as being thin feels” and of course the anti-size zero lobby jumped up and down. In fact all those who are trying to get us to accept the ‘fat is fine’ thing were joining in being similarly outraged.

The thing is she never coined that phrase, Weight Watchers actually did. I recall my sister going to the meetings some years back and she brought home the magazine and there in print were those words only it read ‘nothing tastes as good as being slim feels’. I remember reading it vividly.

Having said that there is nothing to be said for being ‘thin’ like Ms Moss in that picture to the left – cuddling that would be like cuddling a coat hanger. But on the opposite end of the scale you have people who call women like Beth Ditto ‘curvy’…she is not – she is fat!
