The Lisbon Treaty: the Irish have made up their minds…again.

gamblingleprechaunI always thought it was a womans preogative to change her mind however an entire nation has decided to do a complete turnaround. Last June The Irish voted ‘NO’ and resoundingly rejected the Lisbon Treaty being put forward by the EU – yesterday, in a complete about-face, they turned out for a second go at this referendum and voted ‘YES‘.

Make up your minds people!

I am somewhat confused by this national change-of-mind by the Irish; why was a second referendum even held when the people had already voted…? the acceptance of this Treaty means a lot of things to a lot of people in Brussels and especially to one Tony Blair who is waiting with baited breath to assume the cushiest and best paid job in the Northern Hemisphere…the President of the European Union. What a stinker that will be and his appointment will undoubtedly be the most unpopular choice of all.

Blair denied the British people a chance to vote in their own referendum, sent the United Kingdom down the toilet and then abandoned ship and took off into that sunset of lucrative retirement. No wonder Blair was so opposed to the British people deciding the future of their own nation within the EU…he did not want a result he could not control.

The new European superstate is even closer now; the Irish have secured the future of Europe and the United Kingdom by voting Yes. The Irish have an economy that is very reliant on EU funding; they have no jobs, they are unsure of their own government, their banks are screwed and they accept that voting Yes will keep their economy afloat. How ironic that a nation which had fought so hard for independence and autonomy now votes to be carried and supported by a European conglomerate – and with a former British PM very possibly at it’s helm.

But at least the Irish where given the chance to vote…

Celebrity psychologists…?

Have you noticed than whenever some celebrity has a certain ‘moment’ these days there is always a psychologist on hand to interpret their behaviour…? even on one of our morning television shows there is a resident psychologist who appears each week talking about the latest celebrity to have a break down, or go through a divorce…and this psychologist has become something of a celeb herself!

Arnold is almost at the exam stage of his psychology course – child psychology to be exact – and it has been an interesting 12 months for him in his studies. He is wondering just where it will all take him and what in area of this field he should explore next. Whatever he decides there is an interesting website where he can have a look at what is available with regards to psychologist careers – follow that little link and you can upload your own CV/Resume for free as well as peruse the career opportunities.

Psychologists are doing extremely well these days and who’s to argue with that…I’d say everyone in Hollywood would have one on speed dial.
