Why isn’t there a national ‘Pet’s Day’…?

I have often wondered about this because pet ownership has never been at higher levels. Ever since man first domesticated the dog some 30,000 years ago we have always had a special relationship with animals and made them part of our family. And then there are some folk who prefer not to have kids at all but a couple of dogs or cats instead, but that’s another story altogether…

There are millions of books devoted to the relationship between people and their pets – we have all seen at least one Lassie movie right…? my personal favourite would be the James Herriot series of books about him being a vet in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. He always makes the animals the stars of the stories, never himself. Now you have websites devoted to people who love their pets – all animals really – and are concerned about animal welfare. The American Animal Care Center is a caring centre like no other when it comes to your much loved pet needing an operation or treatment. They have a site where you can learn all about them and the wonderful work that they do for your pets and also features an American Animal Care Center coupon.

Why not tell your friends about this site and help raise the American Animal Care Center profile so that it may reach as many animal lovers as possible…?

Big words, big promises – but it is too late for Gordon Brown.

angrypostBritish Prime Minister Gordon Brown is making lots of great promises about the future for the UK but I am afraid it is too little too late for this man. Even his wife, Sarah – all newly made-over and stylish – has been declaring him ‘her hero’ but after eleven years of Labor mismanagement the British public have had enough.

We don’t want heroes Mrs Brown, we want Law and Order. We want employment. We want OUR pensions that WE have saved all our working lives for. We want our elderly to feel safe walking out to their letterboxes in broad daylight. We want police being police and not matey-matey with street dwelling yobs. We want some say in who comes to live here, from where, and when the door to immigration should be closed. We want MP’s to be answerable to their constituents. We want Magistrates to be answerable to the public for the often lenient sentences they hand down. We want mandatory prison terms longer than TEN YEARS for people who harm and kill children…THEIR OWN children especially!

We want parents to be given the right to discipline their own children with the back of the hand if necessary without interference by do-gooders. We want social workers to be able to pick up a neglected, bruised child and carry him/her out of a filth-ridden house. We want child welfare workers that put child welfare first and not the rights of the single or drug addicted mother. We want police who will face up to yobs anywhere, anytime. We want equal rights for Christians to wear the symbols of their own faith wherever they please. We want the right to criticise, to question, to judge…

We want our children to be literate, to have hope, to be told ‘NO’. We want your underclass of unemployed, benefit-scrounging breeders of feral offspring to be told “enough’s enough – no more money, no more kids, get out and work”…We want out of the EU. We want out of the Human Rights Act. We want our nation back.

You have had eleven years to wreak havoc on this once proud nation. Now we need someone to clean up the shocking mess you have created.

Are ‘cash advance loans’ providers now going legit…?

It used to be that if you needed a quick injection of cash into your wallet without the need for providing salary slips and filling out endless forms of paperwork you went to the local pawnshop. Well, maybe not the local one because they tended to have that big word Pawnbroker on a sign over their shop front and you didn’t want to bump into anyone you knew while you were staggering into the shop with your television or video recorder under your arm. Now alot of us have been there and done that – I certainly will put my hand up and admit I have hocked the vcr on several occasions, but that was quite a long time ago. There was always a feeling of being deceitful about it though and then the kids would question you about the whereabouts of the video recorder when they came home from school…

That’s in the past for the most part because times have gotten worse for the population as a whole and the pawnbroker suddenly had real competition…the cash advance loan – or the emergency loan provider. This option gave you instant cash at often very high interest and naturally the cowboys in the business came to the forefront and dirtied the waters for the rest of the industry. But times are changing and now these providers are adhering to new legislation and even imposing a few much needed guidelines and conditions to their criteria which puts some responsibility not only onto the borrower but the lender as well.

If you sort through the various providers on offer you will notice that most of them will now be asking about your salary, how much you earn, and deciding from there as to whether or not you can afford to borrow what you want to borrow. If this can be extended towards introducing some more stringent guidelines it would certainly give some much needed credibility to the industry.
