Friends and family back in Sydney are telling me that Sydney is being swamped by immigrants – mostly on foreign work visa’s – and apparently the locals are not happy about it. The Brit’s have admired Australia’s point-system basis for immgration for some time now and the immigration minister announced last week that they were considering adopting the same system for the UK. The problem is the UK is getting the wrong kind of migrants and they are coming from Europe and Pakistan…not from other nations around the globe. It is the unchecked european arrivals that are swamping the UK but unfortunately for now they have the right to arrive as they please.

Australia had a ridiculous amount of immigration until John Howard slammed the doors shut and tightened up the coastal patrols against those annoying boat ‘refugees’ – he got it all under control. Kevin Rudd, however, has taken things back to the 80′s and has opened the floodgates once more to anyone from anywhere. Mum tells me that at one particular shopping complex (Warringah Mall) in Sydney’s north you may as well assume you are in downtown Shanghai as so many of the shops, pharmacies and bakeries are Asian-owned and staffed. The supermarkets are staffed by foreign workers, turban wearing trolley collectors and veil wearing checkout staff – another friend tells me that Macquarie Shopping centre is almost exclusively employs arab, muslim and Indian staff. I have a relative out of work – Aussie born and bred and he cannot get a job locally, all the jobs go to foreigners or foreign students. My own son has been unemployed for three years – he goes to every job interview and is always asked…”Do you have a work visa…no? – sorry, you are not suitable…” The local MacDonalds near Gosford – staffed by Indians, same at Erina. The local food shops – staffed by asians who only employ each other. What bloody chance does an Australian have with this kind of discrimination!

Just what the hell is going on Down Under! Kevin Rudd needs to cut this dangerous trend before the same problems occur in Australia as are happening in the UK – Australians are being denied employment in their own country; this is discrimination pure and simple.
