Karen Matthews drops appeal

Karen Matthews finally gives up…

And so she damn well should. After being tried and sentenced to eight years in prison – nowhere near enough in anyone’s books – for arranging the abduction and imprisonment of her own child, Karen Matthews has dropped her appeal against her sentence.

Now lets hope we never see or hear from this repulsive female ever again…

Proceed to rot wherest thou dwells Ms Matthews.

While 152 Australian kids died in 2007…

Hang your heads in shame DoC’S Australia. An incredible 152 children died in 2007 in Australia and all of them were known to the Department of Community Services child welfare division. Even more despicable is the fact that over half of them were under 12 months of age.

NSW Ombudsman, Bruce Barbour, said 2007 was the ‘worst year on record…’ and…“While we were able to identify some common factors, it is difficult to point to any particular family type or circumstance or combination of factors where risk is likely to escalate to fatal abuse…”

Difficult eh? here’s some common factors Mr Barbour:

* unmarried mothers

* Mum’s ‘boyfriend/s’

* unemployment

* drugs and alcohol

* welfare benefits

I think you will find a common enough factor there if you opened your eyes!

Hollie Steele steals the show – with a well timed cue from Simon

holliesteelI am really enjoying Britain’s Got Talent right now and was stunned by the talent of young Hollie Steel.  But – and you can call me cynical – but Hollie was obviously no surprise to Simon Cowell.

Just watch the show when you can. Young Hollie starts her little dance, Simon pulling the ubiquitous grimace at the mediocrity of it all, and then notice how he slowly raises his hand and poises it above the buzzer…

At which point Hollie bursts into song, stunning the audience with a beautifully operatic soprano voice. Here’s a clip I found – not brilliant but the only which allowed you to embed…

The eye contact between Hollie and Simon gave it away to me anyway; in my opinion Simon gave her a very blatant cue to start singing. But what does it matter? she’s good for her age – and to think she almost lost a lung from pneumonia when she was just three.

It looks as though Susan Boyle now has viable competition – it should make for riveting viewing as we move towards the finals!

irishwink4But it ain’t here…

Certain ‘content’ regarding a certain ‘topic’ has had to be ‘concealed’ for the time being…

However all is well and in about a week or so I will be able to refer to said ‘content’ again – and I certainly have a few things to say!
