Sorry Binyam – the UK has it’s own problems

If Binyam Mohamed expected any sympathy from the British public he was hugely mistaken. Nobody in their right mind condones the use of torture in this day and age, but by the same token, no-one in their right mind moves around in the terrorist arena in a region known for terrorist activity carrying dodgy forged papers.

One is bound to be picked up…

Another reason you get the ‘no vote’ is because, for some reason, you are not even a British citizen and yet are being accommodated, fed and watered in the UK by the British taxpayer whilst your story is making headlines.

You are Ethiopian – so what are you doing on British soil if you have so many claims of violence against the British secret services…? why not tell the Ethiopian Govt…?

Again, no civilised person condones torture but as a terror suspect you will find it hard going getting people to feel sorry for you right now.

The UK has it’s own problems with it’s own torture victims – babies and children enduring a short life of abuse and neglect and it is happening everyday in a street near you.

Now THATS a tragedy to be outraged about.

So tell your story to someone who cares – and good luck finding someone.

Real IRA – real cowards

The Real IRA have claimed responsibility for the cowardly attack on a group of young soldiers outside the Masserene Barracks in Co Antrim last night. They opened fire as four soldiers took delivery of pizzas from a pizza van. Two were killed.

It leaves you speechless. This Real IRA people displayed the very essence of cowardice. They leave ‘coded’ warnings to newspapers in Dublin of all places, they ambush unarmed men and even shoot at the poor delivery guys who were simply out doing a job. The even continued shooting at those lying on the ground.

These types are working to goad the British into placing troops on the streets of Northern Ireland once more, that is their aim, anything for an excuse to start the wholesale mass killings again. Lets hope that there is no over-reaction on the part of the Govt because that is what these murderers want.

The two young soldiers murdered were only in their 20′s and about to be deployed to Afghanistan – how tragic that they were killed by terrorists here on British soil.

When in Ireland…

Last week whilst out and about on a Sunday drive we happened upon one those agricultural events that make up this largely rural area.

A potatoe festival ! yep, and it was actually alot of fun and really quite interesting. The farmers were there selling their ‘taties and I bought some to plant next month. Hopefully in August I will be doing my own potato harvest along with picking fruit from my Plum trees and the strawberries too.

We have a nice strip of land at the back which already has rhubarb planted but I am looking forward to my potatoes as this land is known for them.

I am also now converted to buying my fresh produce from the farmers markets – alot cheaper and I know I am giving my money directly to the growers themselves.
