Jordan and Pete threaten to release a second album!

Yep, I’ve just been reading about this – what has the general public ever done to deserve this except make the tacky twosome ultra-rich? and not only are they planning to do another album but they are warning us all that it will be an extra long album…for gods sake will someone stop them!!

Are women going mad or what?

There’s yet another mad rush by women to get their hands on the latest magic potion to smear all over their face, except for one thing, it is designed to go on a baby’s bum.  Baby Bottom Butter somehow, at some stage, found it’s way on to some woman’s face while she was changing junior’s nappy. I have a problem with this – why would you smear your face with something off a baby’s bum – and just how did this evolve? maybe this is something we’d best draw a veil over for the time being…

Well girls, what are you waiting for…?

And now for something completely different…

A news site that does not take itself too seriously. Sounds good to me – but then as Everything and Less is the creation of a guy from Dublin you would not be expecting anything too highbrow. I would be disappointed in fact!

Geraco has what I call a nicely hyperactive cranium and being well familiar with Ireland (I lived in Belfast mate) I appreciate the view on the world that only the Irish have – as soon as I saw in the browser the words Temple Bar I had visions and memories of past decadence…anyway enough of that

This is a nicely newsy-blog focusing heavily on stuff happening in and around Ireland; wish I’d found it sooner actually as I am well bored with keeping up to touch through the staid old Belfast Telegraph and it’s ultra-conservative approach (what else would you expect from The North though).  Geraco has a good formula but I wonder if he could do something to make the page a bit easier to load/navigate around – it was a bit bumpy but then again it could be my internet connection today.

I like his natty style to what he writes; I wonder, if he’d been around in 1825, how he’d have written up the courtcase of my GGG Grandfather Micheal Hennessey who was transported to Australia as a convict for stealing from a publican – he was arrested while he was in the act of lying on top of the publican’s wife…

I liked his article re the Chinese and the Irish – that’s kind of how I’d coin things myself - sometimes no other word but pissed will do (love the title though). Just one thing Geraco – go easier on those get paid to review me buttons from PPP underneath your posts otherwise a hint of desperation creeps in…but that’s just me being ultra picky.

Definitely not the worst blog on the internet.

Warning – yummy cooking blogs can be bad for your waistline!

Here’s a bit of self-appreciation: I am a fantastic cook. Just ask anyone who knows me and who has been fed by me, especially my guests here. One thing I was thinking about doing was adding a cooking category to this blog so I could share some of my miraculous recipes and thoughts on food. Of course I haven’t got around to it yet but in order to size up how to go about it I have been looking at how Lisa does the cooking thing on her blog Lisa Cooking.

Lisa, it looks great – a nicely clear and informative site and the photo’s of the food look just as I would expect the finished product to turn out like. Lisa does what I’m best at – good, hearty homecooking that looks as good to the eye as it would taste in the tum. One thing though; never look at these sites when you have an empty tum yourself, her lasagne rolls had the worms biting bigtime and by the time I had drooled over the garlic chicken melt I was in trouble. Actually I am going to try that recipe tonight myself – when you have sons you need to turn out food which sticks to the sides.

I also would like to give her a hug for not being too snobby to use pasta sauce in the jar – there is far too much snobbery in cooking these days - see some of those celebrity chefs and the way they expect us Mums to dig a carrot out of the bare earth rather than buy one from the local supermarket – we don’t have time guys!

Lisa, I like your site. Thanks for the nice and clear layout and not bombarding us with too many irrelevant ads – everything relates to the cooking and dosen’t overshadow the most important aspect…the food! I’m inspired now.

But I think I have gained 5 pounds just looking at that garlic chicken melt…

Lisa’s garlic chicken melt – yummm
