Sometimes I watch that lifestyle show on the TV 60 Minute Makeover where someone’s house is completely redecorated in just 60 minutes whilst the owner is out at work or somewhere. The result is supposed to be a big surprise.
We have been doing pretty much the same thing around here over the past week or so and after having painted, plastered and stripped wallpaper I am left wondering what tricks those producers of those shows are pulling on us members of the public. What has taken us well over a week seems to get done in just 60 minutes on that show – how the hell do they do it?
Also we have walked around several furniture stores and DIY stores as well looking for all those bits and pieces that you need. I repainted the kitchen ceiling with a roller on a pole – I can now say I know exactly how Michelangelo felt painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel lying flat on his back. My neck is killing me and my back keeps reminding me that working at such an angle is just not natural!
Anyway, result is that we now have the entire place looking really nice – freshly painted and decorated. It’s only taken us four years to get around to doing it – but getting it all done in 60 minutes?…give me a break!
Not even Michelangelo could achieve that!
