Today Australia shows the world how to do it.

Today, the Australian Govt will officially acknowledge the wrongs that make up it’s past in regards to it’s indigenous people. So far, no country anywhere in this world of ours has attempted to do the same with regards to righting the wrongs that were committed on the path to progress and civilisation.

Germany; the United States of America; the British (Empire); Spain; The Vatican(and the vile acts perpetrated by members of it’s Clergy); the Dutch; more than a few African dictators, and last, but certainly not least…Japan. Take note. Remember your past; so what are you going to do about it?

Here is the full text as used by the Australian Prime Minister Phillip Rudd…

“Today we honour the Indigenous peoples of this land, the oldest continuing cultures in human history. We reflect on their past mistreatment. We reflect in particular on the mistreatment of those who were stolen generations – this blemished chapter in our nation’s history.

The time has now come for the nation to turn a new page in Australia’s history by righting the wrongs of the past and so moving forward with confidence to the future. We apologise for the laws and policies of successive Parliaments and governments that have inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss on these our fellow Australians.

We apologise especially for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, their communities and their country.  For the pain, suffering and hurt of these stolen generations, their descendants and for their families left behind, we say sorry.

To the mothers and the fathers, the brothers and the sisters, for the breaking up of families and communities, we say sorry.  And for the indignity and degradation thus inflicted on a proud people and a proud culture, we say sorry.

We the Parliament of Australia respectfully request that this apology be received in the spirit in which it is offered as part of the healing of the nation.  For the future we take heart; resolving that this new page in the history of our great continent can now be written.

We today take this first step by acknowledging the past and laying claim to a future that embraces all Australians.  A future where this Parliament resolves that the injustices of the past must never, never happen again.  A future where we harness the determination of all Australians, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to close the gap that lies between us in life expectancy, educational achievement and economic opportunity.

A future where we embrace the possibility of new solutions to enduring problems where old approaches have failed.  A future based on mutual respect, mutual resolve and mutual responsibility.  A future where all Australians, whatever their origins, are truly equal partners, with equal opportunities and with an equal stake in shaping the next chapter in the history of this great country, Australia. ”

If world peace is really a priority of our world leaders then they will take heed of what Australians have done today. We are the youngest nation on earth, yet by far the most mature…if we can do it, so can others. This has been a long time coming. But when it all comes down to it… ‘Sorry’…how hard is that?

Are you living from one payday to the next?

Well, most of us are and if you are one of those people who are paid your salary on a monthly basis then you will know just how fast those cash reserves disappear. It would be safe to say that most people with all the usual everyday committments really only see a fraction of their wages in the form of ready cash, and not for very long at that. And it dosen’t matter what category you fall into with regards to job or rate of pay – a steady cashflow is very hard to maintain nowadays.

Why is this…what eats into our wages?…

Well, here’s a small familiar list -

* electricity

* phone bills

* internet connection fees

* mortgage (a necessary evil I’m afraid)

* food/shopping/fuel for the car

And then, after you have shelled out for all of these and watched your pay dwindle away, the kids put their hands out for pocket money (remember how you promised to pay them for washing the car last week?); the school wants a contribution towards something or other; the dog gets sick; the car breaks down…I could go on but we have been there and read the book. And one other person who you may need to pay out to…the pawnbroker. Hands up all those who have scurried into a pawnbrokers with the DVD/VCR machine under their arm and emerged with a few paltry dollars that only get you through a couple of days at the most?…Ok, most of us have done this. And that is why so many pawnbrokers are living the high life these days. But did you know there is an alternative?…ever considered a payday cash loan ?

But how does it work?…

Simple. All you need is a steady regular income, a bank account and just have the need for enough cash to get you from one payday to the next.  This has fast become a very popular way to do just this. You can’t borrow huge sums, which is better for you, and the repayments are manageable.  Not only that, but you can apply online and in complete confidentiality. These are small, short term loans designed for those little emergencies in our everyday lives. So you can leave the DVD/VCR machine where they are and take an easier option instead.
