What is the UK coming to?

Teenagers killing other teenagers; children stabbing other children in the school playground; gangs of drunken youths kicking a man to death as he tries to defend his home and family; 24 hour trading by pubs; cheap alcohol easily purchased by kids under 15 years of age; young females lying drunk and comatose in the streets on a Friday/Saturday night; females under the age of 16 being paid benefits to give birth to babies; a Govt uninterested; human rights activists more concerned with protecting the rights of the criminals than upholding those of the law abiding community; an EU more concerned with the actions of farmers and shopkeepers than the basic principals of law and order in it’s own communities; no effective Opposition to counter the appalling policies of the Blair – Nu Labour Govt; filthy hospitals; disease ridden hospital wards; women dying during and after childbirth in the 21st century; a Govt more concerned with acquiescing to the demands of the illegal immigrants than addressing the problems and needs of the tax-paying and law abiding British people in general…?

What’s going on!…

Why are people in the UK not marching in the streets in demand of change!!

It’s now or never guys!

Big things are happening in the kitchen!

My son has been bitten by the cooking bug. Just recently he tried his hand at cooking a chocolate mud cake and turned out a pretty fair effort. Well, it got devoured within a short space of time anyway – but having said that a cake has a pretty brief shelf life in this house.

Today he is creating a baked American cheesecake topped with strawberries; his friends on MySpace want him to display the final result by means of a photo on his page so he is throwing himself into the breach and acting the chef. Not so much Jamie Oliver though…more Gordon Ramsey judging by the way things are going for him. I explained just in the nick of time that you cannot line the baking tin with cling film unless you want to be picking melted plastic out of your teeth later on.  Other than that – and that was a fairly important piece of advice I felt – I have left him to it.

While he’s on a roll he is also threatening to cook us spaghetti bolognaise tonight for dinner – this is going to be a long afternoon. Thank god I did the bonding process years back.

Treating the problem at the source

We seem to be witnessing a plague of celebrities right now who are experiencing all kinds of personal dilemmas; Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan and especially poor Britney Spears. You don’t have to look far to see that they have issues with drug addictions but of course such problems go a lot deeper than what we see on the surface.

Going into rehab is the first big step that such people have to take to start tackling their problems. As effective as the detoxifying process is the really effective way to address an addiction is through intensive drug treatment. Finding out what the causes and triggers are for each person involves individual therapy and a road that each individual must not deviate from for the rest of their life.

It is a committment that only you can make; but you are worth that committment.
