A while back I posted a couple of articles about the online-individual known as John Titor who inhabited several online forums back in 2000/1. He made some startling revelations and, while I am in no way considered gullible, I like to keep an open mind with regards to the more mysterious things of life.

Two recent media articles have got me thinking about the things he claimed; just yesterday I read that scientists at CERN are ready to release their findings after extensive experiments involving the laws of physics and time travel. Mr Titor claimed in 2000 this was already underway – how did he know?

Just today I have read that the Beijing Olympics may be on the road to not-happening. Olympic officials want athletes from around the world to sign affidavits stating they promise not to speak out about the Chinese Govt or that countries appalling human rights record before and especially during the Games in Beijing. British athletes are already refusing to sign away their right to free speech and state they will not go to Beijing if this is implemented as a condition of inclusion in the Olympic team. This is something that will undoubtedly result in many countries not being represented in Beijing…I wonder if enough refuse if the Games will proceed at all?

John Titor claimed, in 2000, that the last Olympic Games would be those of 2004; those were in Athens. And it is looking as though they very well could be.

So, was John Titor just the very clever invention of an individual with a lot of time on his hands? Or, was he really fair dinkum? Food for thought. Personally, I’m not dismissing him. Yet.
