See New York in style

If you’re visiting New York, why not do it in style and hire a limo to take you to the shows rather than just a normal taxi? Better still, if you are not ‘native’ to New York City why not hire someone to drive you where an expert driver is needed?

New York City limo has a range of luxury sedans, stretch limos though to coaches and vans to place at your disposal but for my money the way to arrive at the theatre can only be in a stretch limo. Even if you’re not “somebody”, nobody standing waiting for the stars to arrive will know that for sure and for a little while you can bask in all the attention that they’d get which will set you up for days. Hiring a Limo would also be the perfect way to start and finish that romantic evening you have planned, to a famous restaurant or to a Broadway show…going somewhere in style, what more could you ask?

All that for as little as $150: what more could you ask for?

Princess Diana ‘the inquiry’ is a total farce.

As I have said before the official Inquiry into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, is a total farce and now it is descending into the depths of mediocrity. I certainly hope that the bill for this piece of Al Fayed indulgence is being sent to Harrod’s and not the British taxpayer. Because it is Mr Al Fayed Snr who demanded this disgusting public airing of Diana’s most intimate details and the most private moments of her personal life. Are we hearing about Dodi’s private life prior to meeting Diana? No! It appears that all this inquest is doing is filling in the gaps that the newspapers failed to fill during those last years, months and weeks of her tragically short life.

Now the inquest is preparing to hear a statement from the man that Diana herself claimed to be ‘the love of her life’, Dr Hasnat Khan. I cannot see this man telling us what we already knew; that Diana was madly in love with him but it just was not to be. He was from one culture, Diana was from another. Dodi was from the same culture that Dr Khan is from…if it could not work with the man she claimed to have loved more than anyone else, how on earth could it have worked with the fly-by-night Dodi Al Fayed? A man Diana never ever claimed to have loved at all. She was very careful with her words this woman. She loved Hasnat Khan, we all know that…she never claimed to love Dodi, to anyone.

When this is all said and done we will all know just what happened that night; Diana placed her safety in the hand so the inexperienced Al Fayed firm. Diana and Dodi rode in a car driven at dangerously high speeds without wearing their seatbelts. Bad decisions, bad judgement, bad associations caused her death. Nothing else.

Diana chose the wrong people to look after her safety in August 1997. Simple as that.

Harry Potter and the final…in two parts

If you thought you had seen the last of Harry Potter then think again. You really have to wonder at the phenomenon that is Harry Potter. This series of stories, and it’s author, is responsible for the fact that our kids, both young and teenaged, are reading books once again. Never before have an entire generation waited with such anticipation for the next instalment in a series of books and films. I think it is fantastic; Harry Potter has tapped into and harnessed the natural curiousity and vivid imagination that only is found in the young, and young at heart. I have travelled on planes and seen adults reading the Harry Potter books…and they don’t have any children with them!

Anyway, the final chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in two halves and this is just about the most inspired piece of marketing I have ever encountered.  Keep ‘em waiting…but ‘inside sources’ insist the reason behind the two-movie plan is artistic rather than financial. Whatever…the fans will be waiting with baited breath and rightly so.

When you consider how much longer the novels are compared to the films…large chunks of the novels are left out of the screenplays as any fan will tell you, you cannot condense an entire book into a film if you want it to last under 3 hours. Any longer than that and you will be testing even the most ardent fan.

Looks like Harry Potter is set to go out with a huge bang!
