Where to get a Portable DVD Player

One of the best gifts I bought my son for his birthday this year was a portable DVD player. He has had so much use out of it and one great bonus was that there were no more arguments over who wanted to watch what on the family DVD player. With the portable option you can just plug in the adapter, or charge up the battery, and sit yourself down anywhere and view your DVD’s.  He even brings it along on car trips. In fact, it has been such a successful purchase that I am considering buying another one for son number two who has a long plane journey ahead of him soon.

I have been looking at the site Digital Framez and am pleasantly surprised by the selections they have on offer. What I am basically in the market for is: Portable DVD Player 10 inch screen, plays Divx and TV which is something that I think will suit him perfectly. William is constantly on the go and this would make a great going away gift for him.

I particularly like the impressive amount of features included with this portable 10 inch DVD player and the anti-shock feature is an important one seeing how things like these get dropped on the floor. The four hours of continuous play allows you to view several DVD’s or one of those long epic type films that are so popular today. All the kids have CD’s now and this player will play those as well…quite a versatile little machine really.

Family history – Courbarron

When I get my new blog – Hamilton Family History – up and running I will be incorporating into it information regarding the surname ‘Courbarron’.

This was the maiden-name of my Great Grandmother, Mildred, and her father was Augustus James Hamilton Courbarron, born St Helier Jersey Channel Islands in  June 1863. There is hardly any info at all on the origins of this name, or any info really about anyone researching this name on the net. Whenever I google the name now and then mostly what comes up is data I posted on messageboards a few years back. And no answers to them either!

From what I do know the name is spelt sometimes with two ‘r’s and my Great Great Grandfather’s brother, Stanhope, emigrated from Jersey to Canada in the late 1800′s. For some strange reason he changed the spelling of the name to ‘Coeur-Barron’ which actually alters the origins of the name. His descendents have stuck to this spelling, and fair enough, but I wonder why he did it at all.

The name ‘Courbarron/Courbaron’ originated from the Manche region of France, around Normandy. To date there are only 227 people with this surname living in France and they are all located around the Normandy regions of Cherbourg, some further south towards the border with Brittany. The name derives from ‘Court’-short/petit and ‘Barron’ – domain. For years I wondered about the origins so it was great to clarify that.

It is understandable how my Great -Great Grandfathers’ family came to be in the Channel Islands as they lie right off the Normandy coast. Back in the late 1700′s-early 1800′s people travelled to the Channel Islands to work the farms there.

I will devote a major part of the new site to the Courbarron history and invite anyone with any info to contact me and maybe join the project!

The benefits of a cash advance

We all know how difficult it is to make that paypacket stretch from one payday to the next, very often it just does not and many people fall into a cycle of borrowing to make ends meet. People do this in various ways; they pawn their possessions, stretch the overdraft, exhaust the credit card and some have to resort to borrowing cash from friends and family members – and we all know how uncomfortable it is to do that.

Basically people need ‘cash’ though rather than credit to make ends meet…you cannot pay your bus fare with a credit card can you?. Cash in pocket is what many people lack and without having to resort to drawing from your credit card and therefore incurring huge interest, the best way to get some dollars in between paydays is to consider a cash advance payday loan.

CashAdvance1500 have a selection of options for you to consider so you can get an injection of cash into your checking account quickly and without fuss. Emergencies crop up all the time, and when we least expect them, so it is vital to be informed as to what plans are on offer. Their loans are short term, unsecured and for smallish amounts that the borrower will not be stretched to repay. There are even options designed especially for females and their circumstances. They are designed to be your small ‘emergency fund’ and the benefits are that you can apply online with complete confidentiality.

With a choice of lenders on offer, and no credit checks, that solution you have been looking for is there waiting for you.
